Our extensive approach to assisting victims of domestic violence includes confidential emergency and transitional shelters.
Donate NowEvery minute in the U.S., 20 people are physically abused by an intimate partner.
That equates to more than 10 million Americans every year. The Salvation Army aims to provide a place where victims and their children can stay safely while we assist them with the steps toward recovery and independent living.
Our extensive approach to assisting victims of domestic violence includes confidential emergency and transitional shelters where victims and their children can stay safely while we assist them with the steps toward recovery and independent living. In addition to immediate medical care to address physical wounds associated with domestic violence, each Salvation Army Safe House provides mental and spiritual counseling to help rehabilitate the men, women and children who have been traumatized by physical or sexual abuse.
